You can ride a Harley-Davidson® motorcycle!

It's an attainable dream. There aren't any rules about who can get on a Harley® motorcycle. Build the confidence. Discover the feeling that all riders know but can't really put into words. This road is wide open.

We're not training people to ride motor scooters here. This is about getting on a Harley-Davidson® motorcycle. The real look, sound and feel. When you finish, you're ready to ride the real steel.

"A Harley-Davidson® motorcycle is much more than a machine. It's the places you go. It's the things you see. It's the people you meet. It's a journey. It's an adventure. It's the timeless, ageless appeal of freedom."

BASIC RIDER TRAINING (BRT) CURRICULUM

The Learn To Ride program here at High Desert Harley-Davidson is built on the proven curriculum of Idaho State Certification with additional elements provided by Harley-Davidson. You begin by learning how to start the motorcycle. By the end of it all, you’re confidently handling true Milwaukee steel.

CERTIFIED INSTRUCTORS

Our coaches are certified by the state of Idaho. They’ve also been specifically trained by the Harley-Davidson Motor Company to deliver our unique, interactive Basic Rider Training. You learn the best when you learn from the best!

HANDS-ON TRAINING

Get ready to ride. You learn the basics in the classroom. But you spend most of the time practicing on the controlled range, developing the basic maneuvers and skills that make you ready for the road. It doesn’t feel like school. It feels like freedom.

GETTING YOUR LICENSE

After passing the course, you’ll receive your Completion Card at your graduation party. With this card, Idaho waives the riding portion to get your endorsement. You will still need to complete the state’s written test to get your full endorsement for motorcycling. Some insurance companies also offer discounts for taking this safety course.
